Designers Showcase

This week at House of Paper was Designers Showcase. Chiara sent the same kit to 4 of the DT members and then they each make something using the kit.
This is the kit she sent.

This is the layout I made using the kit. I added some pink cardstock for the title and swirls, and a chipboard heart.

Then I made this door hanger using one of the butterflies. I added some of the Crate Paper to it (which is sold at House of Paper) and Mini alphabet stickers (which are also sold at House of paper)

I didnt think the picture showed the flowers very good, so here are some close ups of the flowers.

To see what the other 3 designers did with this kit, check it out in the gallery at House of Paper.

Thanks for stopping by!

My first HOP DT upload

These are for my first Design Team upload over at House of Paper.
I used Crate Paper Brook collection for this layout (which is on sale today until Friday for 20% off). The lettering is American Crafts Thickers.

I found a pattern for this cute little box and thought it would make a cute little treat box. I used the Crate Paper Brook collection for this one as well.

Back to School layout

This is my kids on their first day back to school in 2009. I may add some journaling to it, but havent figured out how I want to do that yet. I used Bazzill cardstock, Cosmo Cricket Boyfriend papers, and American Crafts thickers.

Thanks for stopping by!

I finally got some scrapping done! Heres a layout of my kids sledding. I used Basic Grey Blitzen paper, Bazzill cardstock, Martha Stewart snowflake punch, American Crafts thickers, and buttons.

Math Assignment

My twins had a math assignment to take an item and enlarge it by 10 times. They have to show all their math for everything. We ended up making dice for both of them. Originally Cole wanted to make a domino...the teacher told the class that it would be cool if they all made a domino and they could line them up in the hall and try them out, but we dont have any dominos (and they have to take the original to school to show what they started with). Then Cole wanted to make a giant Q-tip...we thought this would be easy to get PVC pipe and batting...but because the measurements have to be exact, the circumference was an odd size and it was more difficult to do...so we ended up doing dice for both.
Here they are with their dice.

Heres a view of the dice with the small ones we enlarged

I am glad to be done with this project...I really should write notes on this and the science project they had to make so I can remember what to do when Tyler gets in 7th grade. I think these turned out pretty good though.
