Merry Christmas!

We hope you had a very Merry Christmas!!
We enjoyed spending time with both sides of our family on Christmas Eve

When we came home from the parties, there was a gift on the porch from our neighbor. The boys were so excited.

We had a good time Christmas morning and are very blessed for all that we have.

I hope you had a wonderful day!

Brady got his drivers permit

Its hard to believe, but I have a son who now has a drivers permit. Brady passed his test today and he is so excited. The guy at the DMV told him to race me to the drivers seat so he could drive home. Since the drive home would be on a freeway going 75 miles an hour, I opted out of that option, but let him drive around town when we got home. Congrats Brady. I am excited for you, but cant really believe Im old enough to have a kid who can drive!!

Christmas candy boxes

This is what I have been doing all day. I am having fun making these cute candy boxes. This is what my kids will be giving as friend gifts this year. There is candy inside.
These are the same pattern as the Halloween candy box I made earlier. I used Bazzill cardstock and My Minds Eye paper. I love that the paper is glittery.

Christmas Scrappy Stuff

Here are some more things I made for Rocky Mountain Hobbies. All of these were made with the Polar Expressions paper by Imaginisce. I love that the paper is double sided and it is glittery.
I made this box using a template (there are 2 parts, the lid and the bottom). I cut an opening in the lid and put transparency in its place. The lettering is doodlebug alphabet stickers. I cut the tags out with my tags, bags, and boxes cricut cartridge. You could give this as a gift with a note attached that says:
Heres a box of tags for you,
for all the wrapping you have to do.
Attach to gifts for any reason,
To show your love this Christmas season.

I thought this would be a cute little friend gift for my kids to give. I made a pocket card. I used a hot chocolate stamp for the front (these are only $1)

then on the inside I used the mittens stamp and cut them out. I tied hemp around the hot chocolate packet and attached the mittens to the ends. The sentiment was cut out of the paper.

This is a card I made...I just punched the circles out of the paper and cut a sentiment out...really easy.

Thanks for stopping by. Leave me a comment if you drop by...not sure anyone is visiting anymore LOL.

Tylers Cougar Scholar award

They had an awards assembly at Tyler's school and Tyler's teacher gave him an award. His award said: for being one of the most focused students I have had. He always does his best. He is always one of the last students done when it comes to tests. That is why he is always at the top.

I am so proud of Tyler and happy that he does well in school. Congrats Ty!

Bradys new cast

So, I think it has been 6 weeks since Brady broke his arm playing football...and today he got to have a short cast put on. This is the doctor doing some cutting on his old cast to take it off.

I think his arm still looks a little off, tried to get a decent pic of it.

Brady has some nerve damage and cannot straighten his 2 fingers. He needs to work on fixing that or they may have to do a nerve conduction test.

Brady chose a blue cast this time.

Brady is hoping to be done with casts before Christmas. Im hoping all goes well and he is able to have his wish.

This is my family all dressed up for Halloween (with the exception of Cole, who has been sick all week...he refused to dress up for this pic). The kids had a great time. I hope you all had a great Halloween too!

Trick or Treat layout

Yay, more scrappy stuff!
This week at RMH I got to play with the new Pink Paislee Twilight collection. On this layout I used the paper, die cuts, chipboard and cardstock alphabets.
I have tons of old pictures that still need to be scrapped, so it was really nice to get a layout done from a few years ago. I love this collection and plan to make more with it.

Halloween Treats

Life has been crazy at my house for this past week, but I did manage to make a couple of Halloween gifts using American Crafts products from Rocky Mountain Hobbies.
I found a tutorial to make this acetate box over at SCS.

I also made this cute twist box. I found a template for it and decided to give it a try. Cute huh?

I hope to make more fun stuff with my American Crafts paper...hopefully Ill find some time to sit down and do some more.

Football Injury

Brady got hurt at football practice on Tuesday night. When I showed up to the school, they already had his arm wrapped so I didnt see it. When we went to the hospital he was in so much pain that they decided to do x-rays first and see where we were at. Thats the first time I saw his arm...it was obviously broken. He had surgery on Wednesday to fix it. Poor guy, football season is over. Probably wont be wrestling either. He was also supposed to start drivers ed. on Oct. 5 (the day after his birthday) but they said he will have a cast up to his shoulder and cant do that so we had to cancel.
Here he is at the hospital before surgery.

Brady hadnt seen what his arm looked like, so I asked the doctor to take pictures before he fixed it.

Hes doing fairly well. Some pain, but its alot better since the surgery. Brady has had lots of support from friends and we so appreciate it!
Get feeling better sweetie!

Sketch/Layout

The DT at Rocky Mountain Hobbies were asked to create a layout based on my sketch below. I created this sketch based on this layout (click on link)

I didnt want this layout to look exactly like the other one, so I changed it a little bit. I used the June Bug collection again (I used it on my Eagle Project layout, too). I just love the colors of this collection. I also used Bazzill cardstock, Pink Paislee stamp, Autumn Leaves stamp, Cuttlebug Red Tag Sale lettering, and Fiskars Apron Lace border punch.

Thanks for stopping by! Ill have more to post by next Sunday!

Eagle Project layout

We are showcasing Basic Grey paper over at Rocky Mountain Hobbies this week. I chose the June Bug line. I just loved the colors of the line and thought they would work great for Brady's layout about his Eagle Project. I scanned the layout because I think scanning shows a better representation of the colors, but I have a hard time stitching it all together and getting it to line up...anyway, here is what I came up with using the June Bug line. I also used element stickers, alphabet stickers, and buttons from Basic Grey on here.

Be sure to check out what the other DT members make using Basic Grey over in the RMH gallery!

Yellowstone Layout

Heres my newest layout using another sketch from Kim over at RMH. This is Brady and the boys from our ward when they went to Yellowstone in July. I used Bazzill cardstock and Crate paper. The lettering is from the Base Camp cricut cartridge.

Day at the Beach

Heres a new layout. Unfortunately, the buttons make it bulky to scan so thats why there are dark parts on the white cardstock.
Brady went to Willard Bay with his friends. While there they got ahold of a camera and took lots of pictures. Most made me laugh and I think I will make a mini album out of them. I really liked this picture.
I used a sketch by Kim Stolarczyk at Rocky Mountain Hobbies for this layout. Paper is Fancy Pants Summer Soiree. I used Basic Grey buttons and alphabet stickers and a stamp by Pink Paislee.
As always, thanks for stopping by!

Summer layouts

Here are a couple of layouts I made recently. They are for a color challenge at RMH. I used Fancy Pants Summer Soiree paper to do the challenge. The lettering on both was made with the Plantin School Book Cricut cartridge.

This first one if my youngest son.

This is my twins and my youngest son floating in the kiddie pool.

Eagle Project

Brady got his eagle project done today! Im so excited and proud of him for getting it done. We had great support for his project and appreciate all who helped out. For the project, Brady had to break up 100 feet of cement and move it so that the city can pour new cement. It was all sidewalks and most were trip hazards. Heres a few of the pictures I took today.
