Christmas

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! We did at our house. My boys seem very happy with what they received. My 3 youngest boys got football shoulder pads, football pants, and a practice jersey. They havent taken them off for very long since Christimas day. Ive washed the pants and they went right back on. Im glad that they are so happy. They got other things too, but that seems to be their favorite. My oldest son, who recently became a teenager, got clothes. He wanted all these name brand clothes and he got them. He also seemed very happy. So it was a great day. Here is a picture of my boys in their new pjs on Christmas Eve.

Cant forget the milk and cookies for Santa!

I have been creating for my next DT upload. Since our scheduled day was New Years Day, I believe it has been changed. It will either be Jan. 8 or Jan 15. I will upload here once we post at HSS! As always, thanks for stopping by my blog! Leave me a comment and I will visit you too! Have a great day!

Salt Lake City

We went with the youth from our church to Salt Lake City last night. The purpose was to go see the lights at Temple Square...it was soooo cold last night that, honestly, I wasn't looking too forward to the trip. It's a little over an hour drive. Turned out not to be as bad as I had imagined. When we first got there we took a tour of the Conference Center. I had never been in that building before. It was really big (and warm). The Mormon Tabernacle Choir was practicing for an upcoming Christmas program. I snapped this blurry picture, and realized that my battery in my camera was almost gone...so this was as good as it was going to get.

After we went through the conference center, we walked fast through the temple grounds and went into the visitor center (another warm place LOL). I managed to get my camera to take another picture and snapped this one.

I did take a picture of the lights, but its just a big colorful blur. The camera wouldnt take pictures when I wanted it to. This is the last picture I got.

I tried to take pictures of the youth, my oldest son in particular...but my camera refused to take any more pictures. Note to self, check the camera battery and make sure you have the card in the camera before you go somewhere.
Thanks for stopping by! Leave me a comment and say hi!

Family Pictures

This is what Im ending up doing for our Christmas cards this year. I was going to make them clear back in July...but it didnt happen. I always procrastinate til Im too overwhelmed to make them. We just got family pics taken so I thought I would send these instead.

This is Jeff and I...we havent had a picture taken of just us since our first year of marriage. I thought it turned out pretty good.

These are my boys. What can I say, I think they are cute. I wish Tyler's hair wasnt all combed forward, but he smiled good so I cant complain too much. Its definately them...how they prefer to dress and do their hair.

Well, gotta go for now. Im sitting at a home that is in a home show tomorrow. Im hoping I get to go through the tour by the end of the day tomorrow and get lots of fun decorating ideas. Hope you're all having a great day! Leave me a comment to let me know you were here.

My newest creations

Today was upload day at HSS...I finally got my stuff loaded and thought I would share here while Im still at my computer. This first one is probably my favorite of my creations today. There are 6 more pictures that goes with this (the inside), so if you want to see the rest please visit my gallery.

This was a fun little coupon book I made. I thought my kids could write on the coupons and give them to their dad for Christmas...now to think of what to write on the coupons. Any suggestions?

I made this tag to go along with the Friendship bread. Used my cricut for this one.

I made some Amish Friendship bread the other day. I had seen a publication that had bread done like this by Melissa Phillips. I thought it was so cute that I did it too.

Well, as always, thanks for stopping by my blog. If youre making holiday creations, link me up so I can come see yours. Have a great day!

Googling

Have you ever googled your name? I had done it a long time ago but didnt find much so this time I started out with my user name...twinsand2boys. I found scrapbook sites I am a member of and friends of pagemaps...nothing too exciting. Just for fun I decided to try my name again and didnt find much more, but did find my name on a site Im not a member of. So I click on the link to see whats being said about me. Someone cased my turkey place card from November Cards magazine and gave me credit! Woo Hoo...I thought that was so nice that they gave credit. Her version is pretty similar to mine. Hers is very cute...check it out http://messageboards.ivillage.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=iv-hgcraftersco&msg=2921.1&ctx=0 If youre interested in the pattern (even though Thanksgiving is over) heres a link for that too http://www.kaylaskreations.com/turkey_pattern.htm.

Upload day-New projects

It was upload day today at HSS and these are my projects for this month.
On this first layout I used Bo Bunny Papers and Bazzill

On this card I used MME Believe Christmas Collection. It was so much fun to make a card out of a transparency.

I used Dream Street Baylees collection for this project...I love this line. I found journal prompts online and will print them out and put them in the jar.

To see specific products used, click on the project in my store gallery and it will show you items I used that are available in the store.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Be sure to leave me a comment and have a great day!

Christmas gift idea

My ward had a super saturday and they asked me to set up a table with neighbor gift ideas on it. This is one of the items I showed. I made this candy bar wrapper using a pattern by Windows of Time. She makes such cute paper piecings. Im sure Ill be making more of these before Christmas!
Tomorrow is upload day at HSS, so after I upload there I will post my stuff here. I still have one more project to make and havent decided what it is yet. Guess I should go get working on it. Thanks again for stopping by. Be sure to leave me a comment so I know you were here! And hope youre having a great monday!

Halloween pics

Here are some pictures from Halloween night.
This first one is my kids with my dh. I bought the wig my dh is wearing for the kids, but none of them would wear it. Brady didnt make it very long as a "girl". So by the end of the night he was a baseball player.

This is me and the kids. I didnt dress up...I figured I was scary enough without a costume heehee

And this is our cat. Couldnt leave her out of the dress up could we?

As always, thanks for visiting my blog! And have a great day!!!

Carving Pumpkins

Here are the pictures from carving pumpkins on Tuesday. Brady was mad because his lid wouldnt stay on so he didnt really want his picture taken LOL.

I let them draw on their own faces and cut them out themselves...I think they did a pretty good job! Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a great day!

Finally got it done

I worked on this layout last night and before I knew it, it was 3:30 a.m.! Wow, where did the time go? Anyway, Im so happy to have this one done. This is for the Guest Designer challenge for this month (to use paint on a layout). I loved this Dream Street paper. I have been getting lots of comments that I dont look my age. I have been mistaken for being younger all the time. I actually like that. Heehee. I certainly dont feel that old. I can remember being in High School and my friends parents were 36. Wow! My oldest is 13. Weird to think I could have a high school aged child.
Anyway, tonight we carved pumpkins. We went to a local grocery store and they were giving the pumpkins away! Bonus! I took pictures and Ill try to post in the next few days. I still gotta figure out what my kids are dressing up as tomorrow. This really isnt my thing and I struggle every year with costumes. Ill be happy to have that part over.
Thanks for visiting my blog and have a Happy Halloween!

Acetate card

Ive been wanting to make a card out of acetate for a while and I finally got around to making a couple. I can share one now, but you'll have to wait for upload day to see my other one.

Here is the one I can share. I scanned this one. Im having a hard time getting a decent picture of it...how do you take pics of your images? The sun was too bright and glares off of the acetate. If I take it inside its too dark and hard to see.

This is a picture I took of the card outside after the sun was starting to go down. Ill have to practice some more to learn how to get better pics. The other one I made is a christmas card...I really like it, better than this one. Our upload day is a week from tomorrow so Ill post it in my blog after I upload to HSS. TFL! Have a great day!

Arrow of Light

My twins just earned their Arrow of Light for Cub Scouting. Thought I would share some pictures from tonight.
They let Jeff and I present their award...

Then the twins pinned the arrow pin on us (dont you love my pink crocs with my orange sweater? LOL...I forgot I would be in a picture)

These guys were from the Order of the Arrow and they came to do the ceremony.

Thanks for looking! Hope you have a great day!

Gosh, its been a while...

I try to update my blog more frequently, but I almost feel as though I need to create something before I update. I have been subbing so much lately that I havent accomplished much else. I am supposed to have a bunch of neighbor gift ideas made up by Nov. 3 for a super saturday at my church...I hope I get it done on time. I asked a friend to help me out so thatll help me. If you have any great ideas, please share.
Our Guest DT for October is Kristi and she has challenged us to use paint on our layout. I have yet to get that challenge done but I still have a week LOL. Im also hoping to get this months contest challenge done for RMH (to use no patterned paper on a layout).
Hope you are having a great day!

My newest creation

Here's my latest creation. I got the bunny pattern from the free pattern section at Kaylas Kreations website. Thought it would make a cute little Easter treat.
I've still been subbing lots and it leaves less time for me to scrap. But, subbing is good. I like doing it and being in my kids' schools...and the money for Christmas will be very helpful.
Well gotta run for now...hope you're having a wonderful day! Thanks for visiting my blog!

Another Dinosaur card

I thought I would try this card with one of Kaylas Kreations patterns. This one is off her Masterpieces Vol. 2 CD. I love Kayla's patterns. So tell me, do you like it as well as the one I sent to my friend's son (see earlier post)? I also used a Cuttlebug Embossing folder on here...that was fun to make a design around the words, and a first for me to use. This is a great way to use up scraps...and I sure do keep a lot of them! LOL. TFL

My HSS upload

Tuesday was upload day at HSS and this is what I came up with for my upload. I decided to use Dream Street paper this month. The Brady layout is made from the Jack collection, the New Skateboard layout is made from the Rock-n-Roll collection, and the Address book is made using the Her Own Wings collection, by Dana Miron, who was our Guest DT for the last two months. Also I just got me the Base Camp font for my cricut and I used it on the skateboard layout and the address book...I love that font! Thanks for looking!

Card for friends son

My friend and fellow DT member, Natalie, has a son who is 7 and he has had surgery to remove a tumor near his brain stem. He keeps having his ups and downs and he wants to go home. I decided to make a card and some file folder games to send to him and hope it will bring some joy to him. This is the card I made for him.

To read more about it, check out Natalies blog. Im sure she would take all the prayers she can get right now.

Paper Trends box came today...

Woo Hoo! I got my ST box in the mail today...my first ever. How exciting....Its so fun to see my project in print! I got my copys of the book, some creative imaginations paper, scenic route chipboard, crate words, and brads in a bag by Around the Block. Thanks for listening.

Heres the cards I made...

This first card is a make and take posted by Kristin for the crop at HSS. I adored her version and not sure if I like mine as much as hers...but it was fun to make.

The crop for HSS ended at midnight CST and I got my own challenge done (see previous post) and this card, but I didnt get much else done before that time...but I hope to get around to doing the rest of the challenges because they were great ones!

CMK had a crop going and their deadline was today at 1 pm so I did their 4 challenges they had posted and came up with these. This first one was supposed to be a scraplift...my card looks nothing like the original. Hers had flowers and stems...it was cute. . She had used a chipboard fence on her card, so I took the fence idea and made a fall card. I used chatterbox paper and the paper piecing patterns are from Kaylas Kreations...I just love her stuff. This second card was a sketch. I loved the sketch and I love this line of Scenic Route paper...probably my favorite line of SR at this moment. It looks pretty close to the sketch.

This was also a sketch challenge. I used Scrapworks paper on this one. Again, it looks pretty similar to the sketch. This was a scraplift challenge. It was almost 2:30 in the morning when I made this card so it turned out to be pretty simple. It resembles the card I was lifting from, but I wouldve sewn on it had I not been so tired. I used a flower and part of the words from Junkitz paper.

I didnt win but it was fun and I accomplished something. TFL!

World Card Making Day...

...was yesterday. I made a few things for it and thought I would share. HSS had a crop and my challenge was to make a card holder using this template. Here is my version of it.

It was fun to make, if you decide to make it...be sure to look at the sizes on the template...mine did not print out the right size and I had to resize it. I also made some cards, but I will have to upload those in a bit.

Its official...

Today I am the mother of a teenager! When did I become old enough to have a teenager? It just doesnt seem possible. Brady turns 13 today! Cole and Carson turned 11 two days ago...boy has this been a busy week. And poor Tyler is kinda left out of the whole party. Its hard to be the youngest and the only one not celebrating a birthday.

The upload for HSS ended up being postponed til next tuesday so I cant share my newest layouts til then.

RMH has a new contest for October to use no patterned paper...just cardstock. Im hoping to get that challenge done this month. Last month it was lessons learned...I found that to be hard for me. The ladies that did it had great lessons that they learned.

I have been subbing lots and getting more and more behind in everything else. I dont know how you ladies that work all day every day do it! You must be more organized than I am. I went to work, stayed after school so Brady could retake some tests, came home and took Tyler to scouts, helped with homework, ran to pick up Tyler, took Brady to baseball practice, went to the store, picked up Brady, had dinner, finished up homework, got kids in bed, helped dh with his ipod (hes computer illiterate LOL), started a load of laundry, folded a load of laundry, took a shower, and I need to go to bed so I can do it all again tomorrow!

Hope youre all having a great day!!!

Busy Weekend

Wow this weekend was super busy. We had the scrap pink crop at HSS...I think it was a great success. Can't wait to see who the winners are tomorrow.

Here is the make and take I came up with for the crop. No one made it but oh well. Tell me what you think...

Saturday we went to Brady's game. Poor kid had to play in the rain...he was wet and cold. Luckily the second game was cancelled. I dont think he could've made it through another game. Jeff and I went birthday shopping afterwards. Cole and Carson's birthdays are on Tuesday and Brady's birthday is on Thursday...turns into a party all week. While we were out shopping, I stopped in to a Michael's so I could see my pub. in the Paper Trends mag. It looked good. I got two pages...one for the picture and one for the directions. Its a bag kinda like the one above, but its snowman soup stuff and there is a paper piecing of a snowman and a tree on the front of it. Can't wait til my copy comes...Over at CMK they posted that they will be mailed this week, so Im excited!
Upload day for HSS is Tuesday and since thats also my twins' birthdays Im trying to get finished up. I hope to be done tomorrow. Im such a procrastinator.
I mailed off my item to Paper Trends and realized later that I didn't include my signature part of the paper we fill out, so I'm guessing I'll need to send a new paper with my signature to release it for publication.
Its late, guess Im going to bed. Hope you all had a great weekend! I'll post my upload Tuesday or Wednesday!

Toot Toot

Im so excited. Ive had a long day. Subbed at school all day. Came home and got stuff ready for the scrap pink crop this weekend. Took Brady to baseball practice. Took my other three to pack meeting for cub scouts...while there the power went out. Came home and called the power company and they said it could be til 11:30 to get power back. Got Brady home. Power came on around 8:30. Made dinner, cleaned up. Finally getting online and have a wonderful email!!! Paper Trends wants my Love Notes box for the Feb./Mar. issue!!! WOO HOO!!!

Another challenge finished

This is the last challenge for September from our guest designer, Dana Miron. The challenge was to make a layout about my high school memories. This is what I came up with. I used some older chatterbox paper I had around and I cut the letters with the GEORGE cricut font (it comes with the cricut...at least the original cricut). High School was a great time for me.

I have been working on my DT stuff for the HSS upload on Oct. 2. I made a layout using Dream Street paper that I really like. I cant wait til I can share it!

I have 3 birthdays next week...my twins on Oct. 2nd and my oldest son on Oct. 4th. I need to do some shopping soon. The oldest should be easy to shop for, but the twins are a bit harder. They want some funny things...like football pads (to use in the backyard). Ill have to see what I can find.

Hope youre having a great day!

My first Pub and Scrap-Pink Event

My friend Denise just told me that she saw my first pub in Paper Trends Oct./Nov. issue. Im sooo excited and cant wait til I get my copy of it. For anyone who has that issue, I made the snowman soup gift set. Woo Hoo!!!

HSS Challenge

This was the second challenge Dana gave us for September. We were supposed to do a layout about our Junior High/Middle School Memories. (Quit laughing at my hair LOL). I found some 8x10 pics of me in 7th and 8th grade and printed them smaller, but my printer isnt really great at pictures and they look even worse after being printed and scanned LOL. Anyway, this is what I came up with. I used my new cricut cartridge, printing press...I love how the letters change in size and thickness...very eclectic. Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

100 points for Scrap Pink Event.

In an earlier post in my blog I told you about the Scrap Pink Event that HSS is an official sponsor for...well Sharon just posted on HSS that the first 100 people to sign up for this event will receive 100 points to start! Woo Hoo! 100 points towards winning some awesome prizes and you will be scrapping for a good cause!

Challenges at HSS

I got a couple of challenges done at HSS and thought I would share. Our Guest DT for September is Dana Miron (One of the Designers for Dream Street). She has given us challenges to create layouts about our school memories. This is my first challenge...elementary school. Ive been out of school for a while, so elementary school was a bit of a challenge for me. I loved this Daisy Ds paper though...thought the colors were perfect.

Pam posted the instructions for this card at HSS and challenged us to make one. I just love the size it turned out to be (4"x4" finished). I believe we were also supposed to use stamps. I have tons of stamps, but dont use them very often so this was good push for me. I combined the card challenge with Amanda's Use It Up challenge, which was to use metal. Overall, I like the results. Thanks for looking!

What a great day!

Today I went to sub at my oldest sons school...it was the easiest day ever! When I got there they were just going to lunch. Then they were on an assembly schedule and I was just the teachers aide, so it was a short amount of time in class and I just walked around and made sure kids were doing what they were supposed to. Then we went to an assembly! How fun is that? Then I came home and had my HSS happy box at my front door and another package at my side door! I dont think my day can get much better! Hope your day is just as good!

Exciting Email...

Last night I got an email from a girl at Paper Trends! She was telling me how much she liked a project I have being pubbed with them. How sweet is that that she took the time to email me and tell me that? Made my whole day!

My first thing ever being pubbed should be coming next month...in the Oct/Nov Paper Trends. Then I have one in November Cards, and then two items in Dec/Jan Paper Trends (one of which she emailed me about). I can hardly wait to see them! Anyway, I had to share my excitement over the email. Hope you are all having a great day!

Check out my Slide Show!

Yay, my time is fixed...

Haha...thank you, thank you Trish! YOu rock! I got my time changed. That was bugging me. Thanks for your help!

Kids got out early today, started them on homework and dh came home early. Now my youngest has scouts, and my oldest has baseball. I havent gotten anything done today. Blogging is addictive, and I spend way to much time online. Hope youre all having a great day!

What I love about you Journal

This is a journal I made last night. I thought I could write something I loved about my husband each day and then give it to him. Figured its gotta be good for the relationship to look for the good everyday right? Plus who wouldnt love to read a journal full of nice things about themselves?

I used the Love Elsie Betty Collection paper. My favorite Doodlebug Expressions rubons...love that font! and I kandee love market tag...I took the tab off of it. Then I used a sticker from 7 gypsies that says Made with undying passion by:_____________. I debated between that sticker and one that says limited edition __of__.

I notice that my time is still wrong...oh well. I cant figure it out. Thanks for looking!
