Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

We had a busy day on Christmas Eve. We always get together with both sides of the family. This year we hosted the Wikstrom side. We eat, then open Christmas Eve socks and PJs. My house is small, so we were kind of cramped, but not cramped enough to stop doing it. This is my boys with their cousins opening their stuff.

After that we went to my moms house. There is always food at her house as well. We play games while we are there. This is me and Tyler playing BINGO. Tyler was playing my card and his hoping to win.

There is a game that Jeff and my niece (Marci) just love and are so competitive at. You have a pair of dice. You roll doubles with the dice, then you have to put on a pair of mittens and get a present out of a bag and unwrap the present with the mittens on, all while the next person is trying to roll doubles. When they get doubles, your turn is over. If you have not completely unwrapped the present, you have to put the gift back in the bag and then pass it on. Also, all the wrapping from opened presents is supposed to go back in the bag as well so that its harder to find a present. We end up having to wait for the smaller kids to at least have the mittens on before the next person starts rolling the dice. Jeff and Marci happened to be sitting next to each other so they were funny.

Once we came home, we took pictures of the kids in their new PJs by the tree and then its off to bed. Yay!

This is Christmas morning. The kids had just opened the Guitar Hero for XBox 360. We didnt own a 360, so they caught on pretty fast and started searching for the XBox. It was a good Christmas.

I hope to have scrappy stuff to update with in the near future.

A fun surprise

The house next door to us was sold a couple of months ago. We were really sad to lose our neighbors. They were awesome and really good to my kids. They let my kids jump on their trampoline whenever they wanted and play in their yard...they were really good neighbors. I was a little worried when they sold their house that we might not have as good of neighbors as they had been. The new neighbors moved in and they are awesome too! Wow, how did I get to be so lucky? I love it when people are kid friendly...especially since my kids can be so social...maybe too social sometimes. They take everything you say to heart. LOL...for instance, they must have asked my new neighbor if they could help put their Christmas lights on their house and they said yes. Well, we came home late one night and the lights were on the house. They happened to open their door as we were getting out of the van so my twins said "Hey, you said we could help you put your lights up!" LOL...not shy like they used to be. Our neighbors told them that they had actually knocked on the door to get the kids, but we werent home.
Anyway, on to the fun surprise. Our neighbors went out of town and asked my boys to feed their dog while they were gone...which they did. So, tonight dh and I were going to run to the store to get some tape so I can wrap gifts (which I still need to do and its almost 2 a.m.!) and when we opened the door this is what we found on our door step.

There was a note on the gift from our neighbors...how sweet are they!? My boys were unwilling to wait for Christmas to open it, cuz thats like a whole day away ROFL...so they ripped it open.

Inside were these nerf guns. They boys were in the process of going to bed, but since they now have a fun toy to play with, they didnt go to sleep. (which is why I still need to wrap). Arent my neighbors awesome? They made my boys' night!

Ok, Im off to wrap and go to bed. Hope youre having a great day!

Christmas Cards

I made some quick cards last night. I still have a few things to hand out today and I wanted to have a card to go with them. These were quick and easy. I posted the Monday Mojo challenge at Simply Obsessed yesterday and this fits into my challenge. I showed other examples in my thread there. I now have all my neighbor/etc gifts done...Yay! Are you all done and ready for Christmas?

Kids with Santa

I finally got a picture of my kids on Santa's lap. They were always afraid of Santa when they were little and they weren't really wanting to do it now that they were older, but I insisted LOL. Today Im baking and cleaning the house to get ready for family that is coming for a party. Hope you are all having a great day! Have a Merry Christmas!

The thread I tied around it is crochet thread. Sorry its not the best pic...its snowing outside and I cant seem to get very good light. Hope youre all having a great day!

Simply Obsessed December Kit layouts

Heres what I came up with using the December Kit from Simply Obsessed.
The dark brown cardstock does not come in the kit, but there is a brown piece of paper on the back side of a printed paper in the kit. The cardstock I used for the lettering is available in the add on bazzill.

The ribbon on this layout is from the add on ribbon.

I used the kit for this house card. The pattern for the house and tree is by Windows of Time.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope youre having a great holiday season!

A Few of my Favorite Things

I have bought this nativity in pieces and just added to it yesterday. I think the only thing I dont have now it this girl/angel? that is holding a lamb...but I dont know where she would go so Im not sure I will get her.

I used to make a lot of wood stuff. I made this santa a few years ago.

This is a cloth Santa I made a few years ago too.

Here is another wood santa I made. This one is my husbands favorite.

Here are my Christmas trees. Since our living room is so small, we use 3 alpine trees. Not the best picture.

Link me up and show me your decorations. I would love to see them.
I should have scrappy stuff to share soon.

Here are Karlee's finished blocks.

Here's Maddi's blocks

Here's Heather's blocks.

Maddi and Heather were being really silly and very giggly LOL...so they posed with their arms up for their picture.
Hope youre having a great day!

SEI layout

Heres a quick layout I made using the SEI smarty line. This was Tyler's 3rd grade field trip...it was lots of fun!

Countdown To Christmas

This is what I uploaded over at Treasures to Scrap today. I used Bazzill cardstock, Fancy Pants and Bo Bunny Paper...all purchased from TTS. There are links to all the products in my gallery post at TTS. I made my blocks out of cardstock, however, the tutorial I saw to make these used 3" wooden blocks. (Tutorial was by Giselle over at HSS-You have to be a registered member to view).

This was just to show how it was sitting in my entertainment center.

This view was to see some of the other numbers on the blocks.

Hope youre having a wonderful day!

Christmas lights

My kids were dying to help me put up our Christmas lights this year...they thought it would be so fun to get on the roof.
Here is Brady

This is Cole. He was nervous about getting too close to the edge.

Heres Carson

Tyler wasnt so sure about the roof thing, so he got down pretty quick.

Tyler felt left out so he came back up...but he stayed away from the edge. That is a good thing.

Do you have your lights up?

Service Project

The Young Men in my ward are doing a service project where they go to memeber's houses and do something for them such as washing windows, raking leaves, putting up Christmas lights ,etc. and then the member donates money for their service which will be used to help families for Christmas.
This morning the boys came to my house. This is the group that was here. Also, while they were here the local paper came and took pics.

We had them wash windows...They were really good, even took out screens and washed the window behind the screen. I never get to the upper windows so that was nice too.

They did the inside of the windows too.

After they left my house they moved on to other houses. At this house they were putting up Christmas lights.

One of their leaders told us that they are enjoying the service project so much that they are wanting to keep doing it next week. What a great way to help out families in need.

Baby album pages

I made these layouts as a baby gift for one of my "bosses" at Simply Obsessed. Shauna just had a darling baby boy. This was a surprize for her.
For the Christmas layout I used My Minds Eye paper. Cricut Christmas Cheer (reindeer), Doodlecharms (stars), and Printing Press (lettering) cartridges .

For this layout I used Crate paper. The house and tree paper piecing was made from a pattern by Windows of Time. The lettering was made with Sizzix Doodletag (Home) and Cuttlebug Harmony (Sweet) diecuts.

This layout was made using paper I got as a RAK. I cannot remember the name of the company. The turkey paper piecing is a free pattern from Kaylas Kreations. The lettering is Cricut base camp cartridge. The date stamp is by Catslife Press.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sad day

Update: The funeral will be on Friday

Since I know that several local people read my blog, I just wanted to let you know that Jeff's dad passed away tonight. It was sudden and unexpected. The only thing that makes it a little easier is that he was ready to go. He has been so lonely without Jeff's mom who passed away on Easter 4 1/2 years ago. The funeral will probably be this coming Thursday or Friday. Ill update when I know.

Treasures to Scrap upload...SEI

SEI was the sponsor for Treasures to Scrap this month. I was lucky enough to get their halloween papers...Eerie Alley. They are so much fun to use. They have lots of embossed papers in their new collections. I also got an email today saying that these papers are on sale. Everything I used can be found here at SEI.

I found the pattern for these shoes on Ellen Hutsons blog. Fun huh?

Treasures to Scrap is going through a server change so its harder to get into the site while it switches. If you would like to get into the forums go here http://digistore.treasurestoscrap.com/MAINWEBSITEROOT/forums/index.php and to get into the gallery go here http://digistore.treasurestoscrap.com/MAINWEBSITEROOT/Gallery/showgallery.php?cat=522 This is a temporary fix until the site gets all transferred to the new server.
