My fire pit

I have had several requests to show a picture of our firepit that we put in our backyard. We have been trying to improve our backyard so that it is a place we like to hang out. We built the shed on the cement pad weve had since 2002, put sod in where the swingset used to be and put in a firepit. We had everything to do the firepit, just finally got around to doing it. We got the idea for how we did it from the Rupps. Theres is bigger and has a rock circle before the brick starts. Last night we roasted smores and enjoyed sitting around the fire in the backyard.
I will try to do better to update more often...summer has kept us really busy. Hope you are all having a great summer.

Happy Anniversary to me

Today was mine and Jeffs 17th wedding anniversary. Its hard to believe its already been 17 years! We went out and had a great dinner. When we came home, our kids surprized us with a cake they had baked. They had all the lights out and had 17 candles on the cake in the shape of a 17. Arent they sweet! Heres a bad picture of the cake.

Hope you all had a wonderful day!

Slice of Cake

I made this cake for the crop over at Simply Obsessed...Im trying to catch up on all the challenges. I made this with the tags, bags, and boxes cartridge for the cricut. The box opens and could hold a small gift or party favors. Wouldnt it be cute to make the whole cake and use it as a decoration at the party then send a slice home with each kid with party favors in it?
Hoping to do some more scrapping, so I may be back to share more later.
Thanks for stopping by.

Lagoon

After the tour of the Oquirrh Mountain Temple (see previous post below), we took the kids to Lagoon. We have season passes this year, and it has made it nice to go for just a few hours and then go home. Tyler really wanted to go on Rattlesnake Rapids. Since we have gone on it before, I knew how wet Id be when I got off. I was wearing a white shirt, so I opted not to go this time. We had a fun time.

Tyler was the only one who didnt move when the waterfall came up.

Hopefully I can scrap soon and Ill share some scrappy stuff with you.
Have a great day!

Oquirrh Mountain Temple Openhouse

Last Saturday we took the kids and went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Openhouse. The temple is beautiful inside. The tour was well organized. We watched a 12 minute video presentation in a tent, then we walked through the temple.

At the end of the tour they took us to another tent and had refreshments...the tent was nice, and decorated. The cookies were delicious.
We arrived late due to a traffic accident, but they still let us go through (You need to make a reservation to go through). Its free and anyone can go.
We went to Lagoon afterwards...pictures in next post (above).

End of School days

The last few days of school have been keeping me busy. I went on Tylers fieldtrip. We went to Antelope Island. My camera battery died so I didnt get many pictures on this day. This is some of the 4th graders that were there.

Then we had the 4th grade program. I tried to take pictures of the actual program, but I was too far away. I walked up to get this picture right before the program started.

Then today was Field Day at the Elementary School. I was in charge of the tug-o-war.

Only one and a half days left of school. The kids are excited. I will lose my peace and quiet, but Ill be happy to not have the homework and early mornings anymore :)
Have a great day!

Lagoon/Memorial Weekend

We went to Lagoon on Saturday and had so much fun. While we were there we got our pictures taken in Pioneer Village.
This was only the third time our kids have ever been and one of the times the twins were too young to ride and Tyler wasnt born LOL. Its so expensive to go, but we got season passes this year on a promotion when we bought our Durango. The promotion was for 4 season passes so we bought some day passes from the dealership for Jeff and I, but I ended up buying me a season passport when we went. Weve decided that is the way to go, so we will buy Jeff a season passport when we go back. Because of that, we have 5 Regular Ride day passes for sale (Ive listed it on KSL) if anyone is interested.
We also went to the cabin this weekend and had a good time with the Abbotts. The rain was nice enough to stop for a while so we could sit outside and visit. It rained at bedtime and then stopped when we got up again. It was a fun time.
Hope you all had a fun memorial weekend!
