Merry Christmas

This Christmas season has been more than usual busy for me. I ran out of time quickly. Sometimes I work well under pressure and I feel like I accomplished quite a bit in a short amount of time.
I made this Christmas Journal to give to a couple friends for Christmas.

Then my husband and kids needed a gift and both were Mountain Dew lovers, so we made Mountain Dew trees. Cute huh?

At school one of the ladies there had made snowmen out of pop bottles, so I decided to copy her idea for my other son to give to a friend.

And I made these santa pockets to hold a hot chocolate packet and a candy cane.

I need to prepare much earlier for next year LOL. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!! And Happy New Year!

My latest projects

This week our assignment was anything goes. I decided to make a Christmas Planner and a little purse that holds cards.
On this planner, I used Pink Paislee Father Christmas papers. I made the album myself out of Black Bazzill. The papers and ribbon used throughout the book are available at HOP.

I googled for Purse Patterns and found one at Split Coast Stampers. I modified it a bit to make it a different size, but same basic instructions. I would share a link, but I cant seem to find it again.
I used Bella Blvd. Socialite papers for this one.

This is the inside of the purse holding 3x3 cards.

and here it is empty.

Ive been posting Christmas ideas with how to's over on the HOP blog this week...be sure to stop by there as well. (There is a link on the right side at the top under the HOP blinkie).

Halloween

This week our assignment was to make Halloween/Fall stuff.
This layout is of my family on Halloween last year. I used Echo Park Happy Halloween papers.

I found the pattern for this box at the Martha Stewart site and thought it would make cute halloween gifts. I used Happy Halloween on this too :)
If you decide to make them, I learned through trial and error that a spray adhesive is the best option for gluing the paper and cardstock together. The other ways left bubbles inside my box, but the spray adhesive left it smooth.

Its all about the paper

This week the Design Team was asked to make layouts using paper and cardstock only. This is how I usually scrap for the most part anyway, so it was right up my alley.
For this first layout I used the brand new Echo Park Merry Christmas paper. I seem to love everything that Echo Park puts out and their 2 new christmas lines are no exception. I made the flower out of the paper and cut the lettering out of cardstock on my cricut.

For this layout I thought the colors of the Bella Blvd. Hello Sunshine papers were perfect!

As always, thanks for stopping by!!

Layout

This is one of the 5th grade teachers at our elementary school. All of my kids have had him. He's a strict teacher, but the kids all love him. Every year he makes a deal with the kids that he will eat a worm for each section of the end of year testing that the ENTIRE class can score at least 80% on. He had to eat one worm this year.

I used Pink Paislee 365 degrees paper. I paper pieced the worm. The lettering is American Crafts remarks

Thanks for visiting!

New Layouts

These are the layouts I made for this weeks assignment over at House of Paper. The theme this week was Beginnings / Endings / Journeys. I used Bella Blvd. Man of the House papers on both layouts.
This first layout is my son's 5th grade graduation. The lettering was made using my Base Camp Cricut cartridge. The stars were cut with my Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge.

This second layout is "busier" than I usually do, but I thought it would be fun for a change. This is one of my twins at the Breakfast of Champions. All the design elements are cut out of the papers. The lettering is cut using my Cricut Base Camp cartridge.

As always, thanks for stopping by!
